Geelong Performance Physiotherapy is a unique and innovative physiotherapy practice that offers a comprehensive service. Our team consists of experienced and highly-qualified physiotherapists.

We pride ourselves in our ability to successfully treat and manage a broad range of common conditions that include: back pain, neck pain, chronic pain, headache, shoulder pain, knee pain, sports injuries, work injuries and vertigo.
Our physiotherapists have extensive experience that stems from over 20 years combined experience working in private practice, public hospitals and elite sport.  We strive to deliver the most up to date, evidenced based and effective treatment plan tailored to the individual in order to provide the most holistic of services. We believe that empowering you with the knowledge of your condition, how it likely occurred to your body, what structure or structures are involved; how it can be helped and what you can do to help yourself to prevent further problems and re-injury is also critical to your fullest and quickest recovery.

Our Team

Nick Williams

Clinincal Specialist Physiotherapist

A former international and professional rugby union player, Nick came in to physiotherapy
as a mature student. During his time in professional sport he developed a keen interest in the body and how it works. After graduating from Northumbria University, England, Nick spent 3 years as head physiotherapist for a professional Rugby Union team before moving to continue his work in the National Health Service (NHS). Before moving to Australia with his wife at the start of 2014, Nick was a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. This job involved advanced assessment and treatments including imaging and injection therapy. He was also heavily involved in writing some of the clinical care pathways that have since been implemented within the NHS. These pathways have been rigorously audited and proven to have significant clinical effectiveness. Nick is experienced in treating a variety of conditions including; chronic pain, sports injuries, spinal pain, shoulder problems and vestibular / balance conditions as well as rehabilitation of post operative patients.

Nick has post graduate qualifications in Mulligan techniques, Orthopaedic Medicine, Acupuncture and Musculoskeletal Joint & Soft Tissue Injection Therapy. His approach to his work utilises all these skills and he enjoys developing a personalised rehabilitation program based around his patient’s needs and expectations.

Matt Townley

Senior Physiotherapist

After finishing a Sports and Exercise Science degree through a soccer scholarship at Bath University England, Matt went on to do his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy at Kings College, London.  This degree included a Masters level research thesis on Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury rehabilitation.
On completion of his academic career Matt commenced work within the National Health Service in the UK gaining a vast amount of experience treating a variety of conditions within the inpatient and outpatient setting including; chronic pain, sports injuries, spinal pain, upper and lower limb pathology and post-operative rehabilitation.
His background in elite level sport both as a competitor and physiotherapist gives him great insight into the sporting world and, coupled with his extensive Sport and Exercise Science knowledge, is put to good effect developing individualised and progressive exercise based rehabilitation programs tailored to the individuals needs and sporting level.
Since moving to Australia 5 years ago Matt has worked with a local GFL football team and is passionate about the most efficient and effective management of football injuries to ensure the quickest return to the park that is possible.
Matt undergone postgraduate study of various treatment techniques and his philosophy of treating the person as a whole means he uses all his manual therapy, soft tissue, manipulative and acupuncture skills to make sure that his patients get the best from their visit to physiotherapy.

Ryan Ogden


Ryan graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Physiotherapy, after previously completing a Bachelor of Human physio-profile Movement and a Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. He has since worked in private practice and allied health over the past 10 years. Ryan has a great deal of experience working with local sporting clubs, diagnosing injuries and using exercise as a means to rehabilitate successfully.

In 2012 Ryan suffered 2 strokes requiring 2 major brain surgeries to safe his life. Although some physical limitations have caused Ryan to alter his techniques at work, they have not hindered his ability as a physio. In fact, Ryan believes that his years of recovery and rehabilitation have made him more compassionate and understanding of patient needs.

Ryan uses a range of treatment modalities including manual therapy, dry needling and instruction of home rehab programs.

He lives in Jan Juc with his wife Dee and daughter Addis.

Zachary Forster


After completing an Exercise and Sport Science degree in 2014 at Federation University Ballarat, Zach went on to complete his Master of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland. One of the leaders in its field for research in Physiotherapy study in Australia. Zach has a passion for health and fitness and his sporting background is quite unique, having long term involvement in the martial arts which he began in the year 2000. Zach has a list of achievements along this journey including, a 4th Dan black belt with GKR Karate, two time senior male Kata National Champion 2014 and 2016. Two time senior team Kata World Champion and 2015 senior male Kata World Runner up. 2015 senior male team Sparring World Champion. Also 2016 senior male Sparring National 3rd place getter to humbly list a few. Zach has also been a Karate instructor for the past 8 years including coaching the National Squad for both Queensland and Victoria representatives. In this time he has had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and abilities to help them achieve their goals inside and outside the dojo.
Having recently moved back to Victoria with his partner, he is excited to join the team at Geelong Performance Physio where he can continue to enhance his skills with a fantastic supportive team. Zach strongly believes that the key to effective rehabilitation is a holistic approach to therapy, treating the person first and the symptoms second. Working with the combination of knowledge of clinical evidence based practice, hands on therapy and assistance from the individual by participating in the specifically tailored rehabilitation program, goals can be achieved.

Zac Turner


Shortly after completing a Bachelor of Education and working as a physical education teacher, Zac went on to complete a Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University on Queensland’s Gold Coast. With his background in teaching Zac aims to effectively educate his patients, empowering them to take ownership of their own health, and with his assistance, allow each and every person to reach and exceed their physical goals. Zac has experience working in gym based rehabilitation settings, where he took advantage of an active based rehab approach, something that he still incorporates into his current practices.
A firm believer of ‘practice what you preach’ Zac enjoys a physical challenge and competes in marathon running as well as half ironman and ironman triathlon. Along with this Zac has a special interest in the prevention, management and treatment of overuse injuries commonly seen in athletes, and shares his thoughts and advise of such injuries in the ‘Australian Triathlete’ magazine.

Now based in Geelong Zac is very exciting to be joining the team at Geelong Performance Physio and looks forward to the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.
